I am an artist based in the South-West of England, working primarily in the medium of photography. My practice is driven by an appreciation and desire to document experiences. I like creating visual narratives, and aim to produce an emotional response from the audience. I approach my practise as naturally as I can. I absorb life through experience. Walking, talking, writing, photography, and then exhale my translation as the work. From there all I can expect is that the work recycles as influence, and translated again.
I care about photography because it allows me to slow down. Similar to journaling, it allows and requires awareness and reflection, which I think are important skills to practise. I like to trust my intuition, follow where the light is inviting. I don’t force the process, but let it flow naturally, which brings a peaceful relationship between my practice. Photography offers a slowness which I benefit from. If other people get something from the work then that is a bonus.
